摘要
The concept of medicine – food homology (MFH) is deeply entrenched in Chinese medicine and dietary culture. Given the significant impact of dietary habits on colorectal cancer (CRC), the identification of effective MFH drugs that target this malignancy remains a considerable challenge. This study aimed to screen MFH drugs with potential anti-CRC activity utilizing the GEO gene expression database and network pharmacology approaches. Following the identification of active compounds, molecular docking in conjunction with biological experiments was employed to validate the interactions and mechanisms of the key compounds. Based on the results obtained from MFH drug screening, we provide a comprehensive review of the theory of MFH, the classification of associated drugs, and their mechanisms. This work offers valuable theoretical insights and scientific guidance for the practical application of MFH drugs in patients with colorectal cancer.
