Cobalt radical chemistry is a powerful tool in synthetic organic chemistry. Over the last century, development in this area has enabled the discovery of multiple unprecedented types of reactions. Moreover, research on new avenues of radical cobalt catalysis is strongly influenced by an ever-expanding understanding of the biological functions of vitamin B12 – a natural Co-possessing coenzyme. This chapter concisely summarizes advancements in Co-mediated radical chemistry, leaving the reader with the knowledge and the ability to harness its potential in organic synthesis.
