Determination of Allantoin in Corn Silk by HPLC

The content of allantoin in corn silk from Liaoning province is determined.Allantoin is extracted from corn silk by hot reflux extraction and is determined by HPLC.The results show that the optimum extraction technology is 80% ethanol as the extraction solvent,2 h once and the material-liquid of 1∶25.The content of allantoin in Shibin-28 and Jinongda-501 is 5.195 mg/g and 5.240 mg/g.
