Suboptimal hydration status increases the risk of incident MASLD: A pediatric cohort study

We have thoroughly reviewed the article written by Rinella et al.,1 which presented the new definition of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Following screening for hepatic steatosis, the assessment of MASLD involved several key parameters, which are closely related to metabolic function including BMI, waist circumference, blood pressure, and blood biochemistry test indexes.1 These parameters are widely used in epidemiological studies pertaining to child and adolescent health.
