摘要
We experimentally demonstrated millimeter wave (mmW) imaging utilizing a dielectric lens as a collimator of reflection signals from a target. The reflected mmW signals from a target were collected over a two-dimensional aperture and processed to generate an image from individual reflected signals. Using 24x24 measurement points with a 10mm distance in the back focal plane of the dielectric lens, a corresponding target image located in the front focal plane was able to be reconstructed successfully. Reconstruction of the covered object through a sheet of paper and cloth were also performed to prove an advantage of mmW imaging to observe an object through a sheet of non-metallic materials. Experimental results show a noticeable characteristic in the reconstruction of the of hidden objects, indicating that this method can result a promising technique in security applications in many use cases.
