摘要
The number of elderly diabetes patients is increasing with the population aging, showing significant health complexities and individual variations, often with cognitive impairments, which increases the difficulties in self-management and the risk of hypoglycemia. Recent advances in diabetes technology, such as continuous glucose monitoring, smart insulin pens, needle-free insulin injections, and insulin pumps, have enhanced the precision and convenience of blood glucose management, significantly improving blood sugar control and quality of life for elderly diabetic patients. However, elderly patients face challenges with operational complexity, psychological burden, and economic costs when using these technologies. In the future, with further technological innovations and policy support, these technologies are expected to integrate with smart platforms, promoting comprehensive management of diabetes in the elderly.
