摘要
Radiologists work extensively with computers and are at risk of developing work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) and digital eyestrain. As work volume continues to increase, it is critical for radiologists to understand the ergonomic features of their workstation components and alternative strategies to mitigate work-related disability. This article discusses monitor placement and positioning, ergonomic features of chairs, and best practices using sit-stand desks. In addition, we detail peripheral components—mice, keyboards, and dictation equipment—and how their integration with programmable macros can improve efficiency to prevent WMSDs. We also discuss conservative therapies beyond ergonomics such as targeted stretching and break routines. After reading this article, seasoned radiologists as well as trainees will gain insight into how to better assess their workstations, identify problematic areas, and incorporate new components and strategies to secure a lasting, pain-free career.
