Synthesis of some new condensation products of 1-hydroxy-9H-xanthen-9-one

A series of new xanthone derivatives (4-9) was synthesized by the condensation of 1-hydroxy-9H-xanthen-9-one 3 with appropriate chlorocompound by using simple, efficient and generally applicable method. The structures were confirmed by elemental analyses and spectral data.
