摘要
Abstract This review aims to investigate the impacts of continuous cropping on edible fungi, exploring the mechanisms of continuous cropping obstacles (CCOs) and evaluating strategies to mitigate these effects. Research for this review involved comprehensive literature analysis focusing on studies on continuous cropping effects on edible fungi. Key databases were searched for relevant articles, and information regarding mechanisms of CCOs and strategies for mitigation was synthesized. Continuous cropping significantly affects edible fungi by impeding mycelial growth, increasing disease incidence in fruiting bodies, reducing land use efficiency and compromising yield and harvest quality. Strategies such as soil amendments, crop rotation and intercropping are effective approaches to alleviate these impacts, primarily by enhancing soil quality and microbial diversity. Addressing the continuous cropping obstacle (CCO) in edible mushroom production requires a comprehensive strategy, such as improving soil quality through diversified cultivation varieties, improved cultivation methods and microbial community structure. Future research should prioritize further understanding the CCO mechanism, such as the interaction mechanisms between edible fungi and bacteria and viruses, as well as gene expression changes under continuous cropping obstacles, to ensure sustainable cultivation of edible fungi growing in soil.
