The network age has brought new opportunities and challenges for colleges and universities in conducting patriotism education for college students. To enhance the teaching quality of patriotism education, this paper presents research on an evaluation mechanism for college students’ patriotism education in the context of the network era. By examining the value logic, practical logic, and reality logic, it is suggested that patriotism education should be structured to ensure the practical transformation of students’ understanding of patriotism, highlighting the value-leading function, rational guarantee function, and reality-adjustment function. Based on the evaluation requirements for patriotism education under the network-age framework, and aligning with the college students’ patriotism education model, the clustering algorithm from big data analysis is chosen to develop an evaluation index system. This system encompasses classroom lectures, assignments, and themed websites. Using this index system, an evaluation model for patriotism education in the network age is constructed, with results generated through a fuzzy evaluation matrix. Experimental findings demonstrate that this approach is effective in evaluating patriotism education for college students and can significantly enhance the quality of its teaching.
