In a recent Nature Communications publication, Zhang et al. demonstrated a new black indium oxide photothermal catalyst capable of converting carbon dioxide to methanol under solar irradiation at ambient pressure. The catalyst shows remarkable selectivity toward methanol formation over carbon monoxide, overcoming limitations for such reactions.
