摘要
This research draws on a workshop in China to examine the potential of design fiction in shaping future-oriented design education. The study investigates the perceptions of post-human futures in the year 2053 among undergraduates, utilizing design fiction methods. Over 84 participants aged 18 to 20 from one reputable public university in Beijing participated in this workshop, constructing a variety of alternative future scenarios and crafting corresponding design artifacts. The results demonstrate that design fiction methods are effective not only in developing and interrogating post-human future imaginaries but also in fostering future literacy and self-empowerment. Moreover, the study reveals a prevalent influence of western-centric narratives, underscoring the need to foster more inclusive and diverse alternative futures.
