Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a Dinuclear Iron Tetracarbonyl Complex Containing a Ligand , η5, η5-C5Me4CH2CH2CH2C5Me4

Abstract A dinuclear iron carbonyl complex with trimethylene-bridged permethylcyclopentadienyl rings as a ligand, [Cp2(3)Fe2(CO)4] (1) and its oligomeric derivative [Cp2(3)Fe2(CO)4]n (2) were Synthesized, where Cp2 represents the ligand, η5, η5-C5Me4CH2CH2CH2C5Me4. The oligomeric mixture 2 was easily converted to monomer 1, and crystal structure of 1 was determined.
