Analysis of Nida’s Translation Theory from the View of Chomsky’s Linguistic Theory

As one of the most famous translation theorists in the Western world, Nida has a profound influence on translation studies all over the world.Starting from Chomsky's view of language, this paper analyzes its role in Nida's translation thought as a linguistic theoretical source of Nida's translation theory.By sorting out and summarizing Nida's translation theory, we explore its positives as well as the limitations and provide a reference for the future development of translation theory research.
