Chemotaxonomic investigations on Dryopteris fragrans

The phloroglucinol derivatives in four collections of Dryopteris fragrans var. remotiuscula Komarov from Finland, Ontario, and Newfoundland were investigated. The collections from two localities in Ontario gave different results, which indicate either chemical variability in the variety, or the possibility that var. remotiuscula in Ontario might be re-evaluated.
