Abstract Low power consumption and high efficiency have been a difficult problem in power management chips. In this paper, a pulse-spanning modulation mode (PSM) is proposed for loop control to reduce the static power consumption of the circuit. To further improve the conversion efficiency, a cross-coupled charge pump is used. Meanwhile, the output voltage is adjustable in 8 steps and the clock frequency is adaptive to achieve high conversion efficiency. Simulation results show that the proposed circuit structure has a static power consumption of only 4 μA under the state of driving light load, and the power conversion efficiency reaches 80%.
