Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) develop their strategies at organisational and policy levels, and internationalisation is one of them. Internationalisation strategies of the HEIs are planned and implemented through different types of organisational activities. This chapter aims to review the literature on internationalisation strategies of the HEIs inductively and to unravel the different uses and activities of internationalisation strategies for different HEIs, the main categories of organisational activities for internationalising the HEIs, and the relationships between these activities. It covers English-written journal articles, book chapters, and books that are screened on the Scopus query of the different combinations of the keywords, which are higher education and institution*, university*, international*, transnational*, global*, European*, regional*, polic*, strateg*, and program*. Based on this framework, there are four main aspects of this review: internationalisation rationales, strategy management, international activities, and barriers.
