Synthetic inhibitors of serine proteinases XIV. Inhibition of factor Xa by derivatives of benzamidine

Abstract Benzamidine derivatives known as potent inhibitors of the serine proteinases trypsin, plasmin and thrombin inhibit competitively also the enzymatic activity of clotting Factor Xa. Comparative studies on structureactivity relationships show that especially 3-amidinophenylaryl derivatives have a strong anti-F Xa activity.
