Synthesis, Spectral Studies and Anti‐Inflammatory Activity of Some New 2‐Aryloxybenzimidazoles

Abstract 2‐Chloro‐1‐methylbenzimidazole reacts with various phenols to yield the corresponding ethers. 1 H‐NMR‐spectra of these compounds were studied in deuteriochloroform and trifluoroacetic acid. Fragmentation of one of the ethers in the mass spectrometer is discussed. Anti‐inflammatory studies for compounds 2 are reported.
