Rapid hydraulic forming is an advanced forming technology that the impact of high-energy liquid is used to accomplish elastic-plastic forming of metal parts.Since this method can provide high forming pressure and energy in a short time,parts with big local deformation can be formed conveniently,thus the tonnage of equipment can be reduced.Based on the completed rapid hydraulic forming experiments of thick walled tube,numerical simulations for the process were done by using finite element software ANSYS/LS-DYNA,and the results of numerical simulation and experiments were basically consistent.At the same time,the tube deformation process was analyzed according to the numerical simulation results,the displacement curve and the tube wall thickness curve were also plotted,and the numerical simulation results provide a basis for further process optimization.
