摘要
Aim: To study the emotional management of a patient with acute myocardial infarction at the stage of emergency medical care. Material and methods: Using a special questionnaire, we interviewed 150 patients with AMI and 150 of their caregivers. The study was conducted in 2020-2022 on the basis of the Poltava Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care. Results: Analyzing the patient’s responses regarding the dominant emotional reactions during different stages, it is clear that at the initial stages there is a strong negative emotional background - 98% of patients experience fear and anxiety. In the subsequent stages, from the moment of pain relief to hospitalization in the cardiac intervention department, the dominant emotional background constantly changes from negative to positive and vice versa. Based on the respondents’ answers, we noted 2 main psychological and physical phases: the patient alone with his companion; the patient together with the EMT medical staff. We developed an emotion map of the route of a patient with AMI, which included an intervention in the form of emotional support by the EMD medical staff. Conclusions: Based on the data obtained from the survey of patients and their relatives regarding the emotional picture of acute myocardial infarction, it is clear that the actions of medical professionals aimed not only at directly providing medical care to the patient, but also at explanatory work to stabilize the emotional background are extremely important.
