摘要
Knowledge/Effect database is one of the most powerful TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) tools to help people solve problems by leverage prior wisdom from past patents. It is based on the needed function/attribute to search for effects that can achieve the needed function or attribute changes. Although the concept of the K/E data based is very powerful. The existing K/E database still have a number of deficiencies that need enhancements: 1) Database for searching based on attributes is almost non-existent even though the concept is existent; 2) The query results out of the existing Function/Effect database provides only the examples of the possible effect which maybe used to solve the problem but does not indicate how to manipulate the effect to gain the needed function; 3) There is no theoretical base to relate the Function-Attribute-Effect thus providing ways of a complete process to identify appropriate effects and their ways of manipulation to achieve the needed function or attribute changes; 4) The set of fundamental functions and attributes has been fragmented and incomplete. This research purposed a structured Knowledge/Effect database to address the abovementioned deficiencies. It provides a theoretical basis to relate the Function-Attribute-Effect with a full process on how to solve problem from needed function/attribute changes. . The contributions of this research include: (1) Establishing a theoretical basis for Function-Attribute-Effect Knowledge Base. (2) Compiling more complete sets of basic functions, basic attributes, extended functions, and extended attributes. The sets of functions and attributes enable more effective search of the effects. (3) Implementing a working prototype Knowledge/effect database with 50 most frequently used effects and more elaborated contents to enable better utilization of the effects. The system allows extension of more effects without changing the codes.
