The sealing characteristics and stiffness of coated casing installation edges significantly affect the stable operation of aircraft engines. This paper first establishes a rough contact model with a coating. Subsequently, establishing a finite element model of the coated casing installation edge, and proposing partial and full coating sealing methods. Experimental validation is then conducted on both the theoretical and simulation models. Finally, analyzing the effects of coating thickness, internal gas pressure and axial force on the sealing performance of the installation edge. The results indicate that adding a coating to the casing mounting edge can effectively improve its sealing performance while slightly increasing the overall stiffness of the casing, with modal test results consistent with the theoretical model; Partial coating sealing methods demonstrated optimal sealing performance compared to full coating and no coating configurations; Increasing the coating thickness enhances the sealing performance of the mounting edge, while increases in internal pressure and axial force both reduce sealing performance. This research provides a theoretical foundation and a new perspective for the sealing design of casing installation edges.
