Debris flows were very active and caused great damages in the earthquake-hit area. Many important facilities had been constructed on debris flow alluvial fan and thus will be threatened by debris flows inevitably after the post-disaster reconstruction. Therefore, it is necessary to study the deposition prediction which can provide basis for the prevention and reduction of debris flows. This paper presented a case study on the debris flow deposition prediction based on numerical simulation by using Kanako 2D. The deposition ranges were simulated under the 1%, 2% and 10% debris flow frequencies. The simulation results show that debris flows will continue to block the Min River and raise the water level of the upstream barrier lake. |
