The diagnosis of pleural mesothelioma by thoracoscopy

Objective To assess the diagnosis of thoracoscopy in pleural mesothelioma. Methods Thoracoscopy with a single opening was performed using a rigid thoracoscopy under general anesthesia with neuroleptunalgesia.Biopsies were taken under visual control for optical microscopic examination. Result All of 8cases had underwent and toleranced the thoracoscopy.The biopsies were taken smoothly. General pathologic examenation the pleural mesothelioma. Conclusion Thoracoscopy is a safe and effective measure in the diagnosis of pleural mesothelioma.
