In order to comprehensively understand the performance of Ka-band satellite communication systems in different radio wave environments, it is necessary to establish a system radio wave environmental adaptability evaluation method. This article analyzes the radio wave environmental factors and propagation effects that impact Ka-band satellite communication systems and establishes an evaluation method for assessing the adaptability of Ka-band satellite communication system radio wave environmental effects, including the evaluation process, evaluation algorithms models. The atmospheric attenuation of Ka-band satellite ground links is studied. The effects of atmospheric attenuation, cloud attenuation and rain attenuation are classified, and the orthogonal design method is used to design the test scheme. Based on the ITU-R P.1853 recommendation method, the link attenuation time series is generated. The test results are analyzed to obtain the sensitivity and degree of influence of different propagation effects on the performance of Ka-band satellite communication system. The research table shows that the impact of rain attenuation is the largest and that of the atmospheric attenuation is the smallest. This evaluation method can be extended to other wireless communication system radio wave environmental adaptability assessment applications.
