Johnny's Journey Toward Usable Secure Email

Since the publication of "Why Johnny Can't Encrypt,"¹⁰ there has been interest in creating usable, secure email that is adoptable by the general public. In this article, we summarize research from the usable-security community on this topic, identify open problems, and call for more research on usable key management.
