Analysis of test methods for woven fabrics tearing strength

We have tested the tearing strengths of eight different woven fabrics by means of single tongue method and trapezoid method. We have also studied the tearing mechanism and test results of these methods, by rank testing and dual linear regressing the maximum tearing strength, average tearing force, and mean value of five-peak. It shows that the two methods have good linear correlation, despit of their different tearing mechanisms and states.
