This is a new process for synthesizing condensed aldehyde(ketone) with Al_3(SO_4)·18H_2O as a catalyst.Optimal operation conditions and main factors affecting the yield were determined.The study showed that reaction conditions is optimal when the solvent is cyclohexane,the catalyst is 0.5g,n(aldehyde(ketone))∶n(alcohol) is 2∶3 and reaction time is 100min.The yield of condensed aldehyde(ketone) is 88.8%,and the catalyst can be re-used.
