A new type of gas-cyclone with a secondary flow injection was studied in this paper. The numerical simulation describes the flow field in the cyclone by using Reynolds stress model(RSM) with Fluent6.3.The discrete phase model(DPM) is also used to predict the trajectories of the particles, and the predictions are compared with the conventional one.The results prove that secondary flow injection is helpful for increasing the separation effect and the stability of the flow field in the cyclone.Different entering angle and velocity will obtain different separation effect. This study proposed a reference and guidance for a new generation of cyclone development and manufacture.
