Pretreatment can change the property of kitchen waste,improve the performance of anaerobic digestion. The thermal hydrolysis was used for pretreatment in this study,and the effect of this pretreatment on the material property and the performance of anaerobic digestion were examined. The result showed that after the pretreatment,both VFAs,SCOD content of kitchen waste were increased. The optimal pretreatment conditions were 140℃,30 min,under which the mass percentages of protein,starch and fat in kitchen waste were increased by 20%,17%,39%,respectively. After the pretreatment,the VFA and biogas production increased with the increasing of organic load during the kitchen waste anaerobic digestion. The maximum organic loading was 5. 0 gVS·L-1d-1.
