Wet machining is widely used in order to provide better machining conditions. However, recent studies show that it has an influence on workers’ health, manufacturing costs and environment. Therefore, solutions like dry or MQL machining are encouraged. Hence, this study deals with the modelling of thermo-mechanical effects on part distortions when MQL machining of head-cylinder. The analysis focuses on the influence of part temperature before machining, clamping and heat flux transferred into the part when machining. The results are in good agreement with experiments and allow to predict influence of MQL machining on head-cylinder distortions. The analysis also classifies the importance of each effect in order to help engineers to design future machining sequences.
