[Objective] The aim was to provide the reference for studying on characteristics flue-cured tobacco.[Method] The same grade tobacco leaves of differrent varieties from different areas were taken to analyze the correlation of their aroma components with their integrated score of smoking,aroma quality,aroma volume and aroma type,and the relationships of aroma components with smoking quality and aroma characteristics of the initial flue-cured tobacco were discussed.[Result] 41 aroma components were detected from flue-cured tobacco.Among which,dihydro kiwifruit lactone(significant positive correlation),tetramethylpyrazine,solanone,oxidative solanone,geranylacetone,2-acetylpyridine(extremely significant correlation or significant negative correlation) had close relationships with the integrated score of smoking.Dihydro kiwifruit lactone,giant bean three ketene(significant positive correlation),2-acetylpyridine and 2,3-dimethylpyrazine,2-methyl pentanoic acid and tetramethylpyrazine(extremely significant or negative correlation) had close relationships with aroma quality.Tetramethylpyrazine,solanone,oxidative solanone,isovaleric acid(significant positive correlation) and dihydro kiwifruit lactone(extremely significant negative correlation) had close relationships with aroma type.[Conclusion] The correlation of all aroma components and aroma volume of flue-cured tobacco were all not significant.
