OBJECTIVE To investigate the decreasing rules and the impactfactors of peracetic acid.METHODS The residues level of peracetic acid was evaluated by aerosol sprayer and improved chemical analysis methods.RESULTS The exponential model of the level of peracetic acid in air,ie,y=ae-bx(R20.95) was established under the simulated normal condition and the experimental condition of the walls covered with the plastic film. After the wards disinfected with the different concentrations of peracetic acid(1000,2000,5000,and 10 000 mg/L),the samples were taken for 20 min.The average residues levels of peracetic acid in the wards were 5.8,8.1,20.4,and 39.9 mg/m3,respectively and showed significant difference among the samples(P0.05).The positive correlation between the residue level of peracetic acid and the used concentration of the disinfectants was observed as well(R2=0.9732,P0.05).Moreover,after the different studied places(wards, classrooms in kindergarten and buses) were disinfected with peracetic acid at 1000mg/L in spray, followed the monitoring for 20min,average residues levels of peracetic acid in air were 5.8,8.14,20.4 and 39.9 mg/m3.The statistical differences among the samples were also found(P0.05).CONCLUSIONS The findings suggest that the residues level of peracetic acid show an exponential changing trend oven disinfecting time. The residues concentration of peracetic acid in air will increase while high concentration of disinfentant is used. The residues level of peracetic acid is also associated with the materials of walls of studied places.
