摘要
Ancient and modern excavations in many prehistoric sites from the Alps and Jura delivered numerous remains of marmots. Bones were found in caves and rock-shelters occupied at the end of the Pleistocene to the beginning of Postglacial, between 10.000 and 6.000 years BC. A scapula with a fragment of an arrowhead, suggests the use of bow hunting during summer months. A detailed study of the exploitation of marmots shows that they were hunted for their fur, skin, meat and probably grease.
