Thermochemistry

Abstract In this chapter, the roots of thermochemistry will be presented, as well as the individual properties interrelations and their connection to chemical kinetic properties. Methods used to calculate the thermochemical properties from spectroscopic data are described, and sources for thermochemical data listed. An outline is provided of the uses of thermochemistry in research and industry for combustion and related processes, together with an overview of the future of thermochemistry and its developments.
