Polyvinylchloride, otherwise known as PVC or “vinyl,” is a thermoplastic and the third-largest production polymer in the world. In the United States, there is approximately 17 billion pounds of PVC annual capacity. Used for nearly three-quarters of a century, vinyl is one of the most analyzed, tested, and versatile materials.
