摘要
Numerical analysis is employed to predict the failure process by interface debonding in a thermal barrier coating on a heat-resistant nickel based alloy. The studies were carried out using a finite element model based on representation of the contact between coating components as a cohesive interaction with a mixed criterion of crack initiation and development. The main attention is paid to evaluate the effect of the thermally grown oxide thickness on the stress state and cracking behavior of the coating during cooling from 1100 °C to room temperature.
