Older adults are an increasing population group. Their state of health depends on multiple factors such as physical, cognitive and socio-familial among others. Due to the increase in life expectancy of the older adult population, strategies are needed to improve their quality of life, offering them a greater number of means and advice to exercise better control over their health and improve it.
The main intervention of active aging is exercise, which is also the main factor in preventing falls. However, there are other areas that also influence active aging and provide multiple benefits for older adults.
Active aging could be a solution to provide quality of life for older adults, as it is the way to improve opportunities for participation, safety and health to enrich the quality of life as people age, thus achieving healthy and successful aging.
