Objective To detect the expression of BORIS in gastric carcinoma and investigate its clinical significance. Methods RT-PCR and Western blot were used to detect the expression of BORIS in 39 gastric carcinoma and 18 normal gastric tissues. The significance of BORIS expression was analysed according to the pathological characters of gastric carcinoma. Results There was no expression of BORIS in normal gastric tissues, but abundant expression in gastric carcinoma. The expression of BORIS had no close relationship with sex, age, and was correlated with grade of histology and metastasis of lymphaden. Conclusion The abnormal expression of BORIS in gastric carcinoma is correlated with its carcinogenesis, which may be a new tumor marker in the diagnosis of gastric carcinoma.
