摘要
Adding to antibodies: Ordered mesoporous silicas such as SBA-15 may be used as adjuvants to carry, protect, and deliver entrapped antigens, thereby assuring efficient stimulation of antigen-presenting cells and improving antibody responsiveness. Thus, SBA-15 and related silica mesostructures seem to be promising nanosystems for vaccine delivery. Venom proteins from the Micrurus ibiboboca snake (see picture) were utilized in the study.
