The Social Constructivist Model of the Teaching-Learning and Its Application in English Teaching

Constructivism is a great leap in the learning theories and it highlights the active constructing of knowledge by the learners. This article elaborates the social constructivist model of the teaching-learning process and discusses the application of this model in English teaching. By way of creating a beneficial environment, designing a reasonable task, changing the roles of teachers and learners, and the interaction between the elements, the aim of teaching can be achieved.
