Application of Ground Penetrating Radar on Pavement Inspection at Tianhe Airport

The Ground Penetrating Radar(GPR)is a new type of nondestructive tool.More and more GPR equipment is used in roads in recent years.Applications are focused on measuring pavement thickness and pavement deterioration investigations in pavement quality evaluations.The use of GPR on pavement at Tianhe airport illustrates the applications of GPR that include pavement thickness measurements and voids detection under concrete slabs.It has been proved that a continuous, fast and precise measuring data may be obtained by applying GPR.GPR is suitable to be used throughout the country.
