A quasi-distributed all-fiber current sensor based on series structure

Distributed fiber current sensor (FCS) can be used to monitor currents at more than one point. This paper demonstrates a novel structure of fiber sensors based on series structure. The structure can realize multi-channel current measurements by means of only one source and detector. In order to illustrate the performance of the FCS, a typical dual-channel experiment is presented in the paper. The experimental result shows that the structure has good linear relation between the output signal ΔP and current I for both channels. And the theoretical analysis also agrees with the conclusion.
