Planning and Drilling a 24,325-Ft Well in Southwest Oklahoma's Anadarko Basin

ABSTRACT Texaco drilled a well in southwest central Oklahoma which reached a total depth of 24,325 feet. This test presented a unique challenge both in planning and implementing the drilling program. The design, techniques, and practices followed to attain an optimum drilling program are presented.
