摘要
Monomers play a crucial role in selectivity and specificity of the molecularly imprinted cavities. This chapter will mainly focus on the role of monomers and the importance of using multiple monomers in molecular imprinting. The importance of surface-imprinting over the bulk imprinting process will be covered. Several types of surface-imprinted nanomaterials with different functionalities from the monomers and their application will be discussed briefly. Finally, the challenges of using the right monomers with proper compositions are also discussed.
