: The EU-funded Clean Sky 2 (CS2) program aims to make a substantial contribution to the EU's ambitious 2050 target to reduce the environmental impact of aviation while ensuring safer and seamless air mobility and developing a stronger and more competitive aerospace industry and supply chain in Europe. The Innovative Aircraft Demonstration Platform for Large Passenger Aircraft (CS2-LPA) project aims at developing and demonstrating new technologies that will support the EU ambitions for large air transport. In this project, Airbus has designed and developed a new dedicated test bench to perform integration tests of the systems provided by CS2-LPA partners. In order to reach the technological readiness level (TRL) defined at the start of the project for each of these new systems, the laboratory test means must be as representative as possible of the real aircraft while supporting the flexibility and agility required in a research project. So, the use of virtual systems, i.e. a software equivalent of physical systems, was a key enabler. Since 2018, we have gradually improved our efficiency level thanks to the new ways of working that encourage collaboration, teamwork and digital continuity. A set of guidelines and worksharing methods have been defined with partners in order to achieve interoperability between delivered virtualized aircraft components integrated on the test bench. The DisCo bench demonstrator, seen as a new generation of test means: ● Promotes virtual testing methodology: integrating and performing tests on Virtual Components. ● Improves testing lead time: making rapid prototyping for new systems ● Demonstrates test bench modular architecture: developing bricks to be reused on several test means.
