Rainfall interception by the canopy of winter wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) has important effect on rainfall use efficiency. In this paper, the capability of canopy interception of rainfall by the individual and groups of winter wheat was measured and the influencing factors were analyzed by using wet-absorption method. The result showed that leaf number had remarkably effect on the rainfall interception for the individual winter wheat(P0.05),the interception rate was not significantly before the heading stage. As the same number of leaves of winter wheat, the individual interception was different significantly at each growth period(P0.01).The individual interception of winter wheat increased along with the increasing of leaf area, but the influence of leaf area on interception rate was not remarkable. The individual interception of winter wheat increased linearly with the increasing of plant height and fresh weight, respectively, while the interception rate decreased linearly. The group interception of winter wheat presented linear and positive correlation with leaf area index(LAI),aboveground biomass weight, separately, while the interception rate presented negative correlations. From the jointing to the mature stages, canopy interception of winter wheat first increased and then decreased, which the difference at each growth period was extremely remarkable(P0.01),and the maximum amount of canopy interception(1.28 mm) appeared at heading stage. The corresponding interception rate changed irregularly, the differences at each growth period were not prominent.
