Detection of vascular endothelial growth factor concentration in peri-implant sulcular fluid

Objective To investigate the relevance between the level of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and the inflammation of peri-implant tissue.Methods According to the peri-implant tissue conditions,30 cases of patients with peri-implant repair were divided into healthy peri-implant group and inflammatory peri-implant group and taken this two groups as the experiment group,then taken the healthy natural teeth people as the control group.The concentration of VEGF in peri-implant sulcular fluid of the two groups were detected by the method of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results The VEGF concentration,clinical indicators and peri-implant sulcular fluid volume of inflammatory peri-implant group were higher than those of the healthy peri-implant group and the control group(P 0.01),and these indicators of the healthy peri-implant group were higher than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P 0.05).The concentration of VEGF in peri-implant sulcular fluid was significantly positive associated with the clinical indicators of the experiment group(P 0.01).Conculusion The increasing of peri-implant sulcular fluid volume and VEGF concentration of peri-implant sulcular fluid can reflect the health status of peri-implant tissue.VEGF can be taken as the biomarker to evaluate the progress of peri-implant inflammation.
