Lane-changing model with fuzzy control based on cellular automata

This article reports on the design of a traffic-flow model built according to the theory of cellular automata. The model incorporated evolving rules for each vehicle. The authors set up lane-changing rules based on this traffic-flow model and the vehicle's real-world movements. They set up a lane-changing model by using fuzzy inference to simulate the driver's subjective judgment. They conclude that this model can simulate vehicle action favorably.
